How to Talk to Clients about HPV

HPV can be confusing.  Some HPV goes away and some does not.  Some HPV lead to warts and some lead to cervical cancer.  There are two different vaccines that do not cover exactly the same kinds of HPV.  There are also different tests with different guidelines for different clients.

This training will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to talk to clients about HPV testing, treatment and vaccines.

Program Topics & Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Describe to clients what HPV is, how it is transmitted, and when they should be tested for it.
• Talk to clients about whether the vaccine is right for them.
• Discuss when a client should be tested for HPV and the type of test to use.
