Peer-to-Peer Programs Work! They improve teens' access to services by removing perceived barriers and promote confidence and responsibility on the part of the teen staff. Another important reason peer-to-peer programs are successful is the high level of commitment from the adult and teen staff involved.

- Develop strategies to better supervise teen staff;
- Improve communication with teen staff; and
- Understand elements of successful peer-to-peer programs.
Program Objectives
Upon completion, participants will:
- Describe at least 5 characteristics of a good teen supervisor;
- Describe at least 5 components of an effective peer-to-peer program;
- Identify at least 5 barriers to effective communication with teen staff;
- Identify at least 5 steps to create a structured approach to train teen supervisors; and
- Demonstrate 2 communication techniques that increase rapport and cooperation between adult and teen staff.
