Practical Strategies for Planning STD & Pregnancy Prevention Workshops

Focusing on practical strategies, this workshop will help outreach workers, trainers and other program staff to create effective, well-planned STD and pregnancy prevention workshops for youth and adults in classroom and community settings.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for family planning program staff responsible for outreach and education, including: Outreach Workers, Health Educators, Community Health Workers, Nurses (LVNs, RNs), and other interested program staff.

Program Topics & Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss philosophies, techniques and strategies essential to providing effective education on sexuality, STDs and pregnancy prevention;
2. Effectively tailor a workshop to specific audiences
3. Assess personal skills at facilitating an education session.
4. Demonstrate skills in effectively planning and facilitating workshops on sexuality, STDs and pregnancy prevention.
